April 2020 Updates!

Dear CHAMPs
A message from Haiti

Since we stepped on the HOMELAND in 2017, we knew this huge problem of not having water access for all.  into the community where we're serving. And over 3 years, we tried over and over to face it.

Trianon and La Bastille are two neighborhood communities where HOME and Luke 101 serve in various ways. By God's power we planted HOMELAND CHRISTIAN CHURCH there; then we started a clinic, thanks to an organization named CHAMPs.. Their supports are so meaningful here... We are so blessed with a lot Friends that God put into their hearts to join us in this spiritual and social battle. Around this community, there never was ANY drinking water; and for sure people can’t grow plants or produce gardens.
In 2018 we received a federal grant to dig a well.  Unfortunately we could not find water and that opportunity was lost.

A government-run utility station with non-potable water is sometimes available, but it is off the main road; and even more, we can go weeks without any drop of water there. The proof of dirty water was in February, when we had people of ALL ages fall sick of Typhoid.  Two children had the fever from HOMELAND Christian church.  They DIED after surgery for perforated bowel, a painful complication of Typhoid Fever.  Even me, I was victim, with high fever and in bed for 5 days in that period. R I P Mackenley and Jameson.

Thanks to our supporters CHAMPs in Haiti, we have a daily program, sharing water with 100 families.  The pump house is open from 7-9am and 4-6pm

Praise God!  We have young boys working daily on the system to fill water buckets and serve the community. We expect during the dry season to buy trucks of water but the cistern is collecting plenty of water to sustain this community right now.

May God be with you!   MERCI’ MERCI’ MERCI’.
