Mud, 2700 pounds of rice, 900 patients
A wet spring with lots of rain yielded “interesting” travel on this week. Each day-long trip to various rural villages proved challenging, as trucks and buses got stuck in mud nearly every time we left the base!
A heavy mosquito population led us to more folks with Malaria symptoms and we started a de-worming program in various villages, with good results. In this 7-day stay we sorted and distributed 2700 pounds of rice to 550 families, (all donated by families in the U.S) treating 900 patients before we returned home.
